Join the Co-op in Celebrating Earth Day at the Elmwood Park Zoo and Haverford Township
April 16, 2018 – Philadelphia, PA – This Earth Day, Saturday, April 21, 2018, The Energy Co-op, will conduct energy awareness and education activities at two Philadelphia-area events: “The Party for the Planet,” and “The Earth Day Festival.” The Co-op is a nonprofit member-owned cooperative that provides renewable energy to thousands of homes and businesses in Pennsylvania.
Co-op representatives will offer consultations for those who want to learn more about the environmental benefits of joining an energy co-op. Additionally, both sites will feature fun activities for children to learn more about clean energy.
The Co-op plans to provide information and consultations at the following events
Haverford Earth Day Festival – Haverford Community and Environmental Center – 9000 Parkview Dr. Haverford, PA 19041 – 9 am – noon.
“The Party for the Planet” Elmwood Park Zoo Earth Day Celebration – Elmwood Park Zoo – 1661 Harding Blvd Norristown, PA 19401 – 10 am – 3 pm.
“We are excited to participate in Earth Day events in our community,” said Co-op Executive Director Damali Rhett, “As a community based organization for almost 40 years, our aim is to support our neighbors and local businesses. We want our community to understand how they can have a role in where their energy sources come from and how their services are managed,” Rhett added.
